Francine will be offering a rainy night program on the size of planets. Gather between 6:30 and 6:45. I'll begin by about 6:45 ending no later than 7:45. |
Frosty Drew Observatory has recently been given a temporary permit to use the Sky Theater. It has been a long time coming, but after the terrible Station Fire there can be no argument with safety issues. We expect the temporary permit to be finalized in a few weeks.
We are planning to provide a series of alternate programs during rainy or cloudy Friday nights. Some of these programs will be visual slides, perhaps of objects which would have been seen if the weather had allowed. In some cases, the program will be educational at various levels but with a definite emphasis on having fun while learning. All programs will have a question and answer period.
The program will run once an evening from a fixed starting time to a fixed closing time. If you arrive late, you'll find the show in operation. If you arrive early, you'll have to wait if it is not starting time. During the Spring and Summer the starting time for the alternate show will be about a half hour after sunset. During the Fall and Winter the alternate show will normally be 7:30 through 8:30 PM. These times will be posted as this web page is developed.
